By uploading photos, videos, images, or other media on Weefou, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this consent, along with our Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, User Safety Policy, and other applicable policies.

Weefou is an intent-based social discovery app that helps users connect with nearby people for friendship, dating, events, travel, networking, communities, activities, and real-life plans.

2. Why Weefou Requests Photo / Media Access

Weefou may request access to your camera, photos, gallery, files, or media library to allow you to:

You may upload or submit:

  • Display pictures

  • Verification selfies

  • Other media supported by Weefou features

4. Your Consent

By uploading media on Weefou, you consent that Weefou may:

  • Receive and process the uploaded media
  • Store the media securely
  • Display selected media on your profile or relevant app feature
  • Use the media to provide app features
  • Review media for safety, abuse prevention, moderation, verification, or policy enforcement
  • Remove or restrict media that violates our policies
  • Use media-related metadata where required for safety, security, or technical support

You can withdraw consent by removing uploaded media, changing app permissions, deleting your account, or contacting support, subject to legal, safety, fraud prevention, dispute, or compliance retention requirements.

5. Where Your Media May Appear

Depending on the feature, your uploaded media may appear in:

  • Your profile
  • Discovery screen
  • Match or chat screen
  • Event or community section
  • Plan-related section
  • Notes or posts, where available
  • Verification review system
  • Report review system
  • Internal support or moderation tools

Profile photos and public-facing media may be visible to other users depending on your app settings and feature usage.

6. Photo Verification Media

If Weefou provides photo verification, you may be asked to submit a selfie or verification image.

Photo verification media may be used to:

  • Check whether your profile appears authentic
  • Reduce fake profiles
  • Improve user trust
  • Prevent impersonation
  • Review suspicious or reported accounts

Photo verification does not guarantee that a user is completely safe, legally verified, background checked, or suitable to meet offline.

7. Chat Media

If Weefou allows media sharing in chat, you are responsible for any image, video, file, or media you send.

You must not send:

  • Explicit media without consent
  • Non-consensual intimate images
  • Stolen images
  • Private documents
  • Harassing or threatening images
  • Hate symbols
  • Violent or graphic content
  • Illegal content
  • Images of minors in unsafe or inappropriate context
  • Personal information of another person without consent

If someone sends unsafe or unwanted media, you should report and block the user.

8. Report Evidence

When you report a user, Weefou may allow you to upload screenshots, images, or other evidence.

Report evidence may be used to:

  • Review abuse complaints
  • Investigate fake profiles
  • Check harassment or threats
  • Review scams or fraud
  • Support user safety decisions
  • Enforce Community Guidelines
  • Comply with legal requirements where applicable

Do not submit fake, edited, misleading, or unrelated evidence.

9. Media Review and Moderation

Weefou may review uploaded media using manual review, automated systems, or trusted service providers.

Media may be reviewed for:

  • Nudity
  • Sexual exploitation
  • Non-consensual content
  • Fake profiles
  • Impersonation
  • Violence
  • Hate speech
  • Abuse
  • Spam
  • Scam activity
  • Illegal content
  • Policy violations

Weefou may remove, restrict, blur, hide, or reject media that violates our policies or applicable law.

10. Prohibited Media

You must not upload or share media that includes:

  • Nudity or sexually explicit content
  • Child sexual abuse material
  • Non-consensual intimate images
  • Images used for blackmail or threats
  • Stolen photos
  • Fake identity photos
  • Someone else's image without permission
  • Private documents of another person
  • Violence or gore
  • Hate symbols
  • Harassment or abuse
  • Scam or fraud content
  • Illegal activity
  • Misleading edited images
  • Content that violates another person's privacy, copyright, trademark, or legal rights

Serious violations may lead to account suspension, permanent ban, and legal reporting where required.

11. User Responsibility

You confirm that:

  • You own the media you upload or have permission to upload it.
  • Your uploaded media does not violate any law.
  • Your uploaded media does not violate another person's privacy.
  • Your uploaded media does not infringe copyright, trademark, or other rights.
  • Your uploaded media follows Weefou's Community Guidelines.
  • You will not upload media to deceive, harass, scam, exploit, or harm others.

You are responsible for the media you upload, send, or share.

12. Rights You Give to Weefou

You retain ownership of your uploaded media.

However, by uploading media to Weefou, you give Weefou a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, process, moderate, remove, and use the media only for operating, improving, securing, promoting, and providing Weefou services.

This license is needed so Weefou can show your profile photos, operate chat/media features, review reports, perform moderation, support verification, and keep the platform safe.

13. Media Storage and Security

Weefou uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect uploaded media.

However, no online platform can guarantee 100% security.

You should avoid uploading highly private, sensitive, or confidential media unless required for a specific feature.

14. Media Retention

Weefou may retain uploaded media as long as necessary for:

  • Providing app features
  • Showing your profile
  • Supporting chat or community features
  • Verification
  • Safety review
  • Abuse investigation
  • Fraud prevention
  • Legal compliance
  • Dispute resolution
  • Platform security

When you delete media or delete your account, Weefou may delete or anonymise the media within a reasonable period, unless retention is required for legal, safety, fraud prevention, dispute, payment, or compliance reasons.

15. Removing Your Media

You may remove uploaded media from your profile or app settings where available.

Please note that removing media from your profile may not immediately remove all backups, logs, report records, moderation records, or legal/safety records where retention is required.

16. Account Deletion

If you delete your Weefou account, your profile media may be removed or anonymised.

Some media or records may be retained where required for:

  • Fraud prevention
  • Legal compliance
  • Dispute resolution
  • Security logs
  • Payment or subscription records

17. Camera and Gallery Permission Control

You can control camera and photo/media permission from your device settings.

On Android

Settings > Apps > Weefou > Permissions > Camera / Photos / Media

On iPhone

Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera / Photos > Weefou

You can allow, limit, or deny access depending on your device options.

If you deny photo/media permission, some features such as profile photo upload, photo verification, media sharing, or report evidence upload may not work properly.

18. No Unauthorized Use of Others' Media

You must not upload another person's photo, video, private image, ID, screenshot, chat, or personal media without permission.

This includes:

  • Ex-partner images
  • Private photos
  • Screenshots of private chats
  • Photos taken secretly
  • Images downloaded from social media without consent
  • Celebrity or influencer photos used as your own
  • AI-generated images used to deceive others

Violation may result in media removal, account restriction, suspension, or permanent ban.

19. Media and Safety Reporting

Please report any media that includes:

  • Fake profile photos
  • Impersonation
  • Harassment
  • Sexual content without consent
  • Threats
  • Blackmail
  • Hate symbols
  • Illegal activity
  • Non-consensual intimate content
  • Minor safety concerns
  • Scam or fraud content

You can report media from the user profile, chat, plan, event, community section, or by contacting support.

20. Consent Withdrawal

You may withdraw photo/media consent by:

  • Removing uploaded media
  • Denying camera/gallery permission from device settings
  • Contacting Weefou support
  • Requesting account deletion

Withdrawal of consent may affect your ability to use certain features.

21. Third-Party Service Providers

Weefou may use trusted third-party service providers for:

  • Cloud storage
  • CDN delivery
  • Image compression
  • Safety moderation
  • Abuse detection
  • Crash/error handling
  • Analytics
  • Customer support
  • Verification support

Such providers are expected to process media only for Weefou-related services and according to applicable data protection requirements.

22. Important Safety Note

Do not upload or share:

  • OTPs
  • Passwords
  • UPI PIN
  • Bank details
  • Card details
  • Aadhaar, PAN, passport, or ID documents unless required through an official verified Weefou flow
  • Private photos you do not want others to see
  • Home address or workplace details
  • Someone else's personal information

23. Changes to This Consent

Weefou may update this Photo / Media Upload Consent from time to time.

If we make important changes, we may notify users through the app, website, email, or other reasonable method.
