Verification Conditions

Building a Safer and More Authentic Community
Verification helps confirm that an account is being operated by a real person. It also helps reduce fake profiles, impersonation, misleading information, spam, and other forms of platform misuse.
Depending on availability and account requirements, Weefou may ask you to complete one or more of the following:
- Photo Verification
- Government ID Verification
- Voice Verification
Completing verification does not guarantee that another user is trustworthy, safe, or suitable for you. A verification badge is not a background check, professional endorsement, criminal-record check, or guarantee of a person’s intentions.
Always follow Weefou’s safety guidelines when communicating with or meeting another user.
1. Photo Verification
What Is Photo Verification?
Photo Verification helps us determine whether the person operating an account appears to match the photos displayed on their profile.
You may be asked to take a live selfie or follow a specific pose shown on the verification screen. The submitted image may be compared with your profile photographs to assess whether they appear to represent the same person.
Photo Verification Requirements
Your verification photo must:
- Clearly show your entire face.
- Be taken by you in real time.
- Match the person shown in your profile photographs.
- Be captured in a well-lit environment.
- Follow the pose or action displayed on the screen.
- Be taken without sunglasses, masks, helmets, or other face coverings.
- Be submitted without filters, stickers, heavy editing, or artificial enhancements.
- Show only one person.
- Be clear, recent, and in focus.
Photos That May Be Rejected
Your submission may be rejected if:
- Your face is not clearly visible.
- The image is blurred, dark, cropped, or overexposed.
- Another person appears in the photograph.
- You use a photograph of a screen, printed photograph, or previously saved image.
- The submission contains filters, face swapping, AI-generated content, or significant editing.
- Your verification photo does not reasonably match your profile photographs.
- You fail to follow the requested pose or instruction.
- We detect suspicious activity or attempted manipulation.
Photo Verification Result
After reviewing your submission, we may:
- Approve your Photo Verification.
- Ask you to submit another photograph.
- Request an additional verification method.
- Temporarily restrict certain account features while verification is pending.
- Reject the request if the submitted information is insufficient or misleading.
Photo Verification may need to be completed again if you significantly change your profile photos, create another account, or if unusual account activity is detected.
2. Government ID Verification
What Is ID Verification?
Government ID Verification helps us confirm important account information, such as your identity, photograph, name, or age.
You may be asked to provide an accepted government-issued identification document through the verification process available inside the app.
Only upload an identification document when Weefou specifically asks you to do so through an authorised verification screen.
Accepted Documents
Depending on your country and the verification options available, accepted documents may include:
- Passport
- Driving licence
- National identity card
- Other valid government-issued photo identification displayed as accepted inside the app
The available document options may vary by country or region.
ID Verification Requirements
Your identification document must:
- Be issued by a recognised government authority.
- Be valid and not expired.
- Belong to you.
- Contain a clear photograph of you.
- Show the information requested during verification.
- Be photographed in full, including all four corners.
- Be clear, readable, and free from glare.
- Not be digitally altered, edited, damaged, or obscured.
- Match the relevant information provided on your Weefou account.
If both sides of the document contain required information, you may need to upload images of both sides.
Documents That May Be Rejected
Your ID Verification may be rejected if:
- The document is expired, invalid, or damaged.
- The document type is not supported.
- The image is blurry, cropped, dark, or unreadable.
- Important information is hidden or covered.
- The document appears to have been edited or manipulated.
- The photograph does not reasonably match the person operating the account.
- The information conflicts with your account details.
- The document belongs to someone else.
- The same document is associated with suspicious or unauthorised accounts.
- We are unable to confirm the document’s authenticity.
Important ID Submission Rules
You must not:
- Submit another person’s identification document.
- Create, edit, or use a false document.
- Upload a stolen, borrowed, or purchased document.
- Ask another person to complete verification for you.
- Upload financial information or unrelated documents.
- Share your verification document with other users.
Submitting false or unauthorised information may result in verification refusal, account restriction, suspension, or permanent account removal.
3. Voice Verification
What Is Voice Verification?
Voice Verification may be used to confirm that a real person is actively operating the account.
You may be asked to record a short phrase, repeat specific words, answer a simple prompt, or complete another voice-based instruction shown in the app.
The exact verification method may vary depending on the feature available to your account.
Voice Verification Requirements
Your voice recording must:
- Be recorded by you.
- Follow the instruction displayed on the screen.
- Be recorded in a reasonably quiet environment.
- Be clear and understandable.
- Contain only your voice.
- Be submitted without background music, voice effects, or artificial modification.
- Be recorded during the active verification session.
Recordings That May Be Rejected
Your Voice Verification may be rejected if:
- The recording is unclear or incomplete.
- There is excessive background noise.
- More than one person can be heard.
- You do not repeat the requested words or phrase.
- The recording appears to be pre-recorded.
- The voice appears artificially generated, modified, or manipulated.
- Another person completes the verification for you.
- We detect suspicious activity during the verification process.
If your recording cannot be reviewed properly, you may be asked to record it again or use another available verification method.
General Verification Conditions
By submitting a verification request, you confirm that:
- You are the person operating the account.
- The information and material you submit belong to you.
- The information you provide is accurate and current.
- You have permission to submit the requested information.
- You are not impersonating another person or organisation.
- You will not use manipulated, stolen, generated, or misleading material.
- You will follow the verification instructions displayed in the app.
- You understand that verification may be refused if the submission cannot be confirmed.
You must not attempt to bypass, interfere with, test, reverse-engineer, or manipulate the verification process.
Verification Review and Outcomes
Verification may be completed through automated systems, manual review, authorised service providers, or a combination of these methods.
After review, your request may receive one of the following outcomes:
Verified
Your submission has been accepted, and a verification indicator may be displayed on your profile.
Resubmission Required
We could not complete the review using the submitted material. You may be asked to submit clearer or updated information.
Additional Verification Required
We may request another verification method when the original submission is insufficient, inconsistent, or requires further review.
Unable to Verify
Your request may be declined if we cannot reliably confirm the submitted information or if the submission does not meet these conditions.
The time required to complete a review may vary depending on submission quality, verification method, technical availability, and whether additional review is required.
Verification Badge
A verification badge indicates that an account successfully completed a particular verification process at a specific time.
The badge does not mean that Weefou:
- Recommends or endorses the user.
- Has completed a criminal background check.
- Guarantees the user’s identity in every circumstance.
- Guarantees that profile information is completely accurate.
- Guarantees the user’s intentions or future behaviour.
- Guarantees the safety of communicating with or meeting the user.
Users must continue to use personal judgement and follow appropriate safety precautions.
Removal of Verification Status
Weefou may remove a verification badge or require verification again if:
- Profile information changes significantly.
- Profile photographs are replaced with images of another person.
- Account ownership appears to have changed.
- We detect unusual, suspicious, or potentially fraudulent activity.
- The verification was completed using false or unauthorised information.
- The user attempts to manipulate the verification system.
- The account violates our Terms and Conditions or Community Guidelines.
- We determine that the badge may mislead other users.
- Reverification is required for security or compliance purposes.
Verification status may be removed even if the account was previously approved.
Privacy and Data Handling
Verification information may include photographs, video frames, voice recordings, identification-document details, account information, technical information, and review results.
We may use this information to:
- Process your verification request.
- Confirm account authenticity.
- Prevent impersonation, fraud, and platform misuse.
- Investigate suspicious activity.
- Protect users and platform security.
- Meet applicable legal or regulatory obligations.
- Handle verification-related complaints, reviews, or appeals.
Verification information may be processed by authorised personnel and service providers supporting identity verification, fraud prevention, security, infrastructure, or technical operations.
Verification information will be handled according to our Privacy Policy and applicable legal requirements. Retention periods may depend on the type of verification, the outcome of the review, security requirements, dispute-handling needs, and legal obligations.
Do not send identification documents or sensitive verification information through public comments, social media messages, or to another user.
Automated Processing
Some verification checks may use automated technology to evaluate whether:
- A real person is present.
- A submitted image matches profile photographs.
- A document appears valid and readable.
- A submission may have been manipulated.
- Unusual or potentially fraudulent activity is present.
Automated checks may not always produce a final decision. A submission may be referred for additional or manual review where appropriate.
Verification Failure or Technical Problems
If verification fails, check that:
- Your camera and microphone permissions are enabled.
- Your internet connection is stable.
- Your face is clearly visible.
- Your document is valid and readable.
- You are following the exact instruction displayed.
- No filter, screen effect, or image enhancement is active.
- You are using the latest available version of the app.
Repeated failed attempts may temporarily limit further submissions. If this happens, wait for the period displayed in the app or contact support.
Appeals and Support
If you believe your verification request was rejected incorrectly, you may request a review through the support option available in the app or by contacting:
Email: founder@weefou.com
Subject: Verification Review Request
Please include:
- Your registered account email address or phone number.
- Your profile or user ID, if available.
- The verification method you attempted.
- A short description of the problem.
- A screenshot of the error, if appropriate.
Do not send a copy of your government ID by ordinary email unless our authorised support team specifically requests it through a secure method.
Submitting an appeal does not guarantee approval. We may still require a new submission or another verification method.
Safety Reminder
Verification is one of several safety measures, but it cannot eliminate every risk.
Before meeting another user:
- Communicate through the app until you feel comfortable.
- Meet in a populated public place.
- Inform someone you trust about your plans.
- Arrange your own transportation.
- Avoid sharing financial information or passwords.
- Never send money to someone you met through the platform.
- Report suspicious, abusive, misleading, or unsafe behaviour.
For more information, read our Safety Centre, Community Guidelines, and Terms and Conditions.
Changes to These Conditions
We may update these Verification Conditions when verification features, technology, security requirements, legal obligations, or platform practices change.
Material changes may be communicated through the app, website, or another appropriate method. The “Last Updated” date will show when these conditions were most recently revised.
